Founded In 1852, Mills College (The "College") Is An Independent Liberal Arts College For Women, With Graduate Programs For Both Women And Men. The College Provides Education And Training Services For Undergraduate Women And Graduate Women And Men, And Performs Training And Other Programs Under Grants, Contracts, And Similar Agreements With Its Sponsors, Primarily Departments And Agencies Of The United States Government, And Private Donors. The College Educates Its Students To Think Critically And Communicate Responsibly And Effectively, To Accept The Challenges Of Their Creative Visions, And To Acquire The Knowledge And Skills Necessary To Understand The Natural World And Effect Thoughtful Changes In Society. The College Encourages Openness To Experimentation And Change In The Context Of Established Academic Disciplines. The Curriculum Combines The Traditional Liberal Arts With New Educational Initiatives That Recognize The Value Of Cultural, Racial, And Ethnic Diversity.
